Man, once more I looked inside you
I sneaked inside from unprotected cracks
I saw mud clad in ornaments
A throne of condemnation with a handful of servants
And a miserable king
who gave birth to solitudes
Baptized them in oblivion
before they turn to guilt
And the courtier dead
With inexistense building him in
Spitting out paranoia once more
to the face of his need
Man, I witnessed the darkness inside you
behind the mask of habit
Man, I saw the fate you knew
A kingdom of suffering, of deluded logic
And your king is growing stronger
In the frosts of greed
With a grief so proud he wipes out all wounds
And I, once his courtier
Cough up even more guilt
Repulsion and despair for my creations
Crust with strings is a heartfelt and honest pairing. And the opening track Awoken is such a beautiful track, I can't help but listen to it on repeat. Gemma
Hearing the songs while reading the narrative behind the lyrics, I felt overwhelmed by this tragic story in which humans and artificial intelligence couldn't coexist side by side. Their reciprocal annihilation was inevitable. Except one "sole survivor, in a ship filled with memories. She had become the proof of Earth, proof that life had existed there, a voice for all the species and beauty we once knew". A dystopian concept dressed up in brilliant musicianship! @Slevin, thanks, I owe it to you! Umbra Cornuta
